Privacy Policy

1. What we collect
- Account data: email, name, password hash, sign-in provider.
- Profile and listing data: parcels, ownership records and photos you submit.
- Uploaded documents: sale deeds, mutations, khata, patta, tax receipts, surveys, encumbrance certificates, court orders and other property records you provide. Stored in encrypted object storage with row-level access controls.
- Property records: structured fields you enter or that we extract from uploaded documents (owner names, parcel identifiers, area, location, valuation, history).
- Contact information: details you enter when contacting support, requesting reviews or transacting with other users.
- Analytics: page views, feature usage and aggregate behavioural events used to improve the product.
- Payment data: billing name, address and contact captured at checkout (required by Indian export-payment regulations). Card and UPI credentials are handled directly by our payment processor, Razorpay — we never see or store them.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser info, error logs.
2. How we use it
To operate the Service, process payments, prevent fraud, communicate with you about your account, and improve the product.
3. Sharing
We share data with infrastructure providers (hosting, database, analytics) and with Razorpay for payment processing. We do not sell personal information.
4. Retention
We retain account data for as long as your account is active. Uploaded documents and property records are retained while the parcel remains on the platform and for a reasonable period after deletion to support dispute resolution and audit integrity. Payment records are retained for the period required by Indian tax and accounting law (typically 8 years). Aggregate analytics are retained indefinitely in de-identified form.
5. Your rights
You may access, correct, export or delete your account data by emailing privacy@landcompass.co.in. Residents of the EU/UK have additional rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
5A. Data deletion requests
To request deletion of your account or specific uploaded documents, email privacy@landcompass.co.in from the email associated with your account. We may retain anonymised audit records of historical actions where required for legitimate platform integrity and legal compliance.
6. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong password and report suspected breaches to us promptly.
7. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18.
